It displays the same chatoyant silky luster as golden tigers eye. It is found in South Africa. It is less common than golden tigers eye. The blue-gray color comes from unoxidized iron. It is sometimes called blue tigers eye. It is used in cabochons and beads. It is relatively inexpensive. It is popular in mens jewelry. It is a variety of microcrystalline quartz.
